The last two years have been a challenging time for ArtSpace. We faced financial difficulties, a need to relocate from our home of 23 years, and staff changes. All of this tested our resilience as a non–profit organization. Despite these obstacles, with your help we are now positioned to launch an exciting new chapter in our journey, with new leadership and a dedicated Board of Directors.
In August we found a new home, a 4,000 sq. ft. location in downtown Maynard, with studio space for ~20 artists, plus room for an office, kitchen, and hallway gallery.
Our move out of 63 Summer St. was challenging as many artists were displaced from their long-time studios. This loss only reinforced the importance of serving the broader community. With our new downtown location we are confident that we have a solid foundation from which to increase our community engagement, be closer and more involved with events in Maynard, and have a direct and positive impact on the local economy.
We currently have multiple initiatives underway to promote the involvement of both artists and art enthusiasts.
Our new website reflects a fresh start with current information on our programs, plus key features including the ability to accept donations and payments online.
A Membership Program that will provide a range of benefits for artists, art enthusiasts, and local businesses.
Additional space in downtown Maynard where we can offer classes, workshops, lectures and more.
In addition, we will be installing new signage for our spaces and enlisting support for grant research and writing. And lastly we need to strengthen our staff to make all of this happen.
But of course, all of this takes funding.
As we turn the page to the new year, we are reaching out to ask for your help so that we can continue this important work. Your tax-deductible donation will have a direct impact on our operations as well as these key initiatives:
You can donate on our website HERE or you can send a check payable to ArtSpace Inc. and mailed to: 74 Main st., Maynard, MA 01754. And if you donate $100 or more before December 15th we will send you a set of 5 handmade greeting cards made by Denise Shea. Supplies are limited so act soon. The cards are blank inside and feature a snowy scene of Nason Street with the Clock Tower in the background.
Thank you for being a part of the ArtSpace community and for helping us turn this new page with hope, enthusiasm, and a deep commitment to the arts.
