Our Impact
Since 2001, ArtSpace has provided affordable studios to artists in Maynard and the MetroWest area of Boston.
In 2023 we moved to downtown Maynard allowing us to create stronger ties to the community. In addition to renting studios we also run a variety of programs to engage and connect with the community. ArtSpace is where art and community come together.
Three locations and 28 Artists:
74 Main st. – Office, 9 Studios, 18 Artists and the Barbara Erwin Gallery.
9 Nason st. – 7 Studios, 10 Artists and our Membership Lounge.
77 Main st – Teaching Classroom and the Alcove Gallery.
Membership Program:
In early 2024 we launched our Membership program in an effort to connect artists and art supporters. Our program has 105 individuals and it’s growing. Members receive discounts on our classes and workshops. Every month we offer several opportunities for Members to meet up and connect. Our bi-monthly Artists circle is a space to share and discuss your ongoing work. Or just listen. And Members receive a monthly E-news on regional opportunities.
Art Classes & Events:
Since March 2024, we have run 32 classes and workshops bringing several hundred people to our downtown classroom. In 2025 we launched a series of kids creative events with the music event center next door – Sanctuary. And we have just begun to offer workshops with the Council on Aging.
Giving Back:
Art is a tool fo a better community so we actively look for ways to give back and be involved. This year we will decorate and fill Kids Food Donations bags for Open Table. We are organizing Maynard’s first Town Wide Open Studio. We spin and hand out free Cotton Candy at the annual Trick or Treat event to hundreds of kids.
Community Connections:
Each year we participate in the town’s ArtWalk, Maynard Fest and Holiday Stroll welcoming 100’s of visitors to our studios and exhibitions.
We also participate in the annual Holiday Parade and Pridefest.
In 2024 we partnered with Town Hall and local artists to hang a permenant collection of work by Maynard residents.
